Sorry, this could be embarrassing. In Germany, and in many other countries  red roses  indicate that you have an emotional attachment to the lady concerned.

This not all. You should never give an even number of flowers in Europe since this suggests finality, e.g. the end of a relationship. Unfortunately you cannot rely on this  to cancel out the message of the red roses!

To prove your knowledge of the world, and in the interests of a continuing business relationship with your host, if you must give flowers, choose an odd number of flowers of another colour- e.g. 15 white roses.
